Ripon College is a very small, coeducational secondary modern comprehensive school situated in the city of Ripon, in North Yorkshire, England. The headteacher is Mr Barry Found. It has approximately 470 students, including the in-house sixth form. Previously known as Ripon City School, Ripon College competes with over 11 secondary schools in the local area, including the nearby Ripon Grammar School (selective), the slightly further away Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, and Boroughbridge High School.

"The appointment of the new headteacher, his skills and clarity of purpose; the appointment of a new deputy head with complementary skills to the headteacher; the development of a sound senior management team and the potential of most heads of department to encompass the planned extension of their role; the high quality of much of the teaching; the developing role of governors; the clarity and appropriateness of planning and budget management - all these factors indicate that the school clearly has the capacity to improve further."[1][2]

This would appear to be substantiated by Mr James Kelly, a teacher at the school, winning the North Yorkshire regional prize for "Most Outstanding New Teacher" in 2000.[3]
